THE ROYAL COLLEGE OF NOBLE MAIDENS - Exterior Description of the Building

Descripción

This unique building consists of a square three-story structure, with some areas having four levels, as well as a garden and a large courtyard. Its structure was built using granite stone for the base, brick for the walls, and ceramics for ornamental motifs. On its exterior facades, we can admire the symmetrical composition of its lintelled windows covered with grilles, and the two access doorways in a classicist Baroque style, one used to enter the church and the other to access the school. The church door is formed by a semicircular opening framed by Doric pilasters, with the coat of arms of Cardinal Silíceo standing out on its front. On the other hand, the school door is composed in a Doric style and displays two emblems, the royal coat of arms and the founder's coat of arms.
