Due to the commercial activity that has been taking place in this area of Madrid since ancient times, between the years 1913 and 1916, a covered market project was carried out to continue these activities despite the weather conditions. The building's design was done by the architect Alfonso Dubé y Díez following the style of "iron architecture" typical of that time, creating a grand infrastructure of 1200 square meters filled with crests, glass, and a myriad of ornamental elements of great value as they are the only ones remaining in the city in this artistic style. This commercial establishment continued with its traditional functions until 2009, when after a major renovation, the market reopened its doors transformed into a high-quality gastronomic space where you can enjoy both traditional Madrid and international cuisine through its exquisite products, a must-visit place for anyone visiting Madrid.
