ARENAL STREET. History.

Descripción

Calle Arenal is one of the ten roads that depart from Puerta del Sol and one of the busiest due to being the one that connects said square with the Royal Palace of Madrid. The origin of the street dates back to the 15th century, before the establishment of the court in the city, when it was configured on an old stream where sandy terrains were abundant, hence its name, and after the arrival of the royal entourage, it became a prominent place where most noble families were established. Today, it is a commercial street full of businesses and restaurants where we can find places of great interest such as the Church of San Ginés, the House of Ratón Pérez, or the most famous chocolate shop in Madrid.
