PRADO MUSEUM. The collections.

Descripción

It is common to define the museum's collection as the collection of the kings' taste because it was the Spanish monarchs who reigned between the 15th and 19th centuries who commissioned most of the works that we can see in its rooms today. We must imagine that the canvases that cover the walls previously adorned palaces and royal buildings. On the other hand, this collection was increased with the assets of the Museum of the Trinity, which contained religious works that had been acquired during the ecclesiastical confiscations of the 19th century, in addition to donations and acquisitions. The Prado Museum is the most important at a national level and is among the best in the world, a space where you can contemplate works by famous artists such as El Greco, Velázquez, Rubens, Murillo, Raphael, Bosch, and Goya.
