In the design of the Prado Salon, the arrangement of monumental font types was an essential requirement for the distribution of space, the ornamentation of the ensemble, and the functionality of the project. The first one we contemplate in front of the Cuesta de Moyano was the Fountain of the Artichoke where a triton and a nereid holding the coat of arms of the Villa are represented, although this is a replica since the original was moved to one of the sides of the pond in the Retiro Park. In second place, we will find the Fountain of Apollo, a divinity representing light and the arts in Antiquity, qualities that Carlos III wanted to highlight in his reign. However, without a doubt, the most famous fountains in the city are those dedicated to the goddess Cybele and the god Neptune.
